2018 Summer Nature Camp


Do you love exploring forests and streams?

Do you love climbing trees, playing in the mud, staying outside all day long?

Do you wonder what the animals are doing all day?

Then come join the MVCS staff in our Summer Nature Camp! Explore the forests, streams, and ponds of our beautiful Baker River Valley!

For rising 1st - 7th graders. Camp runs from 8:30am - 3:00pm. 

Early bird registration until 4/20/2018, $150/week. After 4/20/2018, $175/week.

Week 1: Nature Awareness

July 2 - july 6 (closed July 4) 

This week we will learn the basics of developing a connection to nature and building our sensory awareness skills.

week 2: Outdoor Living Skills

july 9 - july 13

During Week 2, we will hone our outdoor living skills, building a long-term shelter and learning skills for living with nature.

week 3: Wilderness Skills

july 16 - july 20

For our last week of camp, we will practice survival skills!

  • rock boiling for water purification

Our staff Naturalist and Upper Elementary Assistant teacher Mary Doyle has developed both the afterschool and summer programs to engage students in play while learning intimately about their local environment. In addition to being a certified NH elementary teacher, she received training at the Wilderness Awareness School, a preeminent outdoor education school, and the 8 Shield program, a global mentoring program for fostering nature connections between individuals and the earth. She leads both programs with assisting staff members.
