2018 Summer Nature Camp

july 9 - july 13

Do you love exploring forests and streams?

Do you love climbing trees, playing in the mud, staying outside all day long?

Do you wonder what the animals are doing all day?

Then come join the MVCS staff in our Summer Nature Camp! Explore the forests, streams, and ponds of our beautiful Baker River Valley!

At Nature Camp, we will hone our outdoor living skills, building a long-term shelter and learning skills for living with nature.

  • shelter building
  • wild edibles and medicinal plants
  • basketry
  • knots and lashing

For rising 1st - 7th graders. Camp runs from 8:30am - 3:00pm.

Our staff Naturalist and Upper Elementary Assistant teacher Mary Doyle has developed both the afterschool and summer programs to engage students in play while learning intimately about their local environment. In addition to being a certified NH elementary teacher, she received training at the Wilderness Awareness School, a preeminent outdoor education school, and the 8 Shield program, a global mentoring program for fostering nature connections between individuals and the earth. She leads both programs with assisting staff members.
