MVCS FAMILY COMMITTEE
The Mountain Village Family Committee is a volunteer-based group of parents who interact closely with the school. All families are encouraged to participate with the Family Committee in some way. The committee has two primary roles:
To facilitate between families and the school administration
To organize and support special school events.
Any family that wants to communicate their thoughts, ideas, and/or concerns to the greater school community (Head of School, Board of Trustees, and teachers) can expect the support of the Family Committee. Clear and consistent communication between parents and the administration of the school is key to operating the community-driven mission of MVCS.
Family Committee also serves the Mountain Village Charter School by supporting and facilitating school activities, celebrations, fundraising, and special events, in an effort to foster a strong sense of school community. Any family members can join the committee or volunteer on its behalf. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to come to the meetings: families and community are essential to our school’s success.
Family Committee organizes and supports a number of events throughout the year, including bake sales, Winter Solstice Concert, and weekend activities, among others.
